Danielle Herman: Finding the Joy at Work and in Life
Danielle Herman is an Account Manager for Rieke Office Interiors. She needed no introduction to the company as she already knew Todd and Libby Rieke personally. They knew she had the right personality and determination for the job, and as usual, they were right.
Danielle takes pride in enthusiastically approaching each project with an understanding for the customer’s needs and making sure she manages them effectively. What’s on her accomplishment wish list at Rieke? Her main objective is to sell over $1,000,000 of furniture.
Aside from working on that lofty goal, there is no such thing as a typical day for Danielle. “Every day is different. It’s what keeps my job so interesting,” she said. “It can consist of driving to a client’s office in Indiana to meeting new people at a networking event.”
If she has a few hours of free time, chances are she will spend it with family or friends watching a good movie. She also enjoys playing guitar and collecting records. But Danielle is no couch potato. She lists boating and attending live music concerts among her favorite hobbies and skydiving as one of her major accomplishments.
An alumna of the University of Kansas (Rock Chalk Jayhawk!), Danielle was the first person in her family to graduate college. But she’s still learning. “I would love to be better at playing the guitar and also brush up on my Italian, which I haven’t spoken since college.” She still speaks fondly of her first trip to Italy. Maybe a return trip is in order to help with her language skills. In the U.S., her favorite spot to visit is Key West.
Her co-workers may not know Danielle is excellent at rapping (just don’t ask her to make up lyrics). Her other secret talent? Trivia. Do you know a small child can swim through the arteries of a blue whale? You do now.
Whether it’s her job, a new project or just being with family and friends, Danielle always searches for – and usually finds – the joy in every situation.
